Yesterday, I listened to a Podcast by Patrick Lencioni. The name of the Podcast is “The Simple Reminder,” which are simple reminders to do those things which help us follow Jesus.

The idea he shared was to be ready to ask, “Is there something going on in your life that I can pray about?” This is a powerful way to move conversations into a deep spiritual connection. My experience in asking this question is the same as Lencioni’s: almost no one is offended, and almost everyone says, “yes.”

Of course we ask this when with church friends or family, but it is a powerful tool for evangelism, too. I have seen servers in restaurants sit down in the booth and pour out their hearts. People just want to know that someone cares and that Someone wants to help carry their burdens.
